Sustainable Student Farm
The SSF mission is to serve as an accessible living laboratory for small, diversified farm education and training. We seek to empower students to engage in thoughtful, sustainable, and innovative agricultural practices through outreach, demonstrations, and research.

Sustainable Student Farm Open House 2026
Join us Friday, September 11th, from 3-7 PM at our 2026 Sustainable Student Farm Open House for tours of the farm, free food, and to hear from our collaborators on and off campus!

What we do
The Sustainable Student Farm grows 40-50 vegetable and fruit crops on 6 acres on South Lincoln in Urbana. Student workers and volunteers plant, cultivate and harvest produce using low input and organic practices. The majority of our produce goes to the dining halls here on campus all year. We also sell our produce at a farm stand on the quad and through an online store starting in late May and going through the fall semester.
